Abstract
|
|
|
A parapelvic renal cyst was usually identified during excretory urography as a mass causing extrinsic compression on the renal pelvis. This appearance is non-specific, however, and the etiology of such a mass must be further investigated.
Recently
computed tomography, magnetic rensonance imaging (MLRI0 and sonography have replaced angiography as the preferred methods of evaluating masses in this retgion. The main radiological findings consisted of a round smooth mass distorting the pelvis
and
elongating or dilating the calices. Therefore differential diagnosis of renal hilan masses is necessary. The appearance of parapelvic cysts on both CT and sonography may minic hydronephrosis and unnecesardily lead to further invasive studies. As,
we
experienced the parapelvic cyst in a 36 years old female patient and she is being closely followed by us with our treatment plan of alcohol ablation. We report it here with a review of the literature.
